TESTIMONY from Boot Camp 2012

  • The project acts' Boot camp 2012 S4G was not just a mainstream boot camp wherein you will enjoy outdoor activities like obstacle course, boodle fight or trekking rather it was a time for me and the other campers to fuel up our spiritual lives which was guided by the living words of God, our Lord Almighty. I just felt so blessed from the beginning until the very last day it ended. I saw how God moved in the midst of each campers especially to my group.

This year's camp theme "Stand Still and See the Salvation of God" created a direct impact on our lives because it taught us how to deceive what is RIGHT from WRONG by choosing and making a STAND on the path or the righteous or on the path of the wicked. Pastor Joseph Maraon shared us a very powerful message on how should we move forward for the advancement of the kingdom of God by being STILL so that we could SEE God's SALVATION in our lives.

Personally I acknowledge that I have a lot of shortcomings in my walk of faith probably just like the other campers before we enter the camp. But God is indeed good for I was able to realized how should I deal with these short comings in my walk of faith.

A message from the Lord spoke to me during our last day at the camp, April 26, wherein I was able to share it to my teammate and other campers as well. So this how it all went, I led that day's devotion of our team and my real dilemma was what will i share to my teammates which could embark them, remind them and help them that the real battlefield in standing still is not here inside the camp but in the world and the environment which we live in. God gave me Romans 12:2 which says "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will." This verse was indeed powerful because we were all reminded that in every decisions and actions that we do we must know if it is the will of God for our lives. Hence, it stabilizes us not to conform to the patterns of the world but rather live a life which is pleasing and all for the glory of the Lord.

This year's camp did not failed me rather it blessed and touched my heart. It brightened up more the fire that is in me which was already merely dying. I got to meet new friends which i call my buddies in advancing the kingdom of God. Like what I said the real battlefield is in the environment which awaits us after the camp. It is a good thing that these buddies i met, Sean De Guzman and Jeremiah Mistica, were also both serious in turning their heads out from our shortcomings. It is indeed a good thing that you know you have someone with you who's sharing the same vision and aiming for one mission. Who would pray for you in time of testings and who would support you in times of need.

"Before the camp started, I felt like an empty glass which is needed to be filled with water. But at the end of the camp I was already overflowing and now ready to share what God has in stored in my life" this thought is from Sean De Guzman. I totally agree on his thought, Today I am living a life with a clearer direction moving towards on the will of the Lord. Living by and through FAITH not by SIGHT. Overall the camp went well and may God bless Project Acts for being an instrument and agent of Change in the lives of the young generation like me.
